Generally, between week 24 and week 34 of your pregnancy your baby will have room to move and we will be able to obtain the best results. However, a scan can be carried out at any stage of your pregnancy and it is possible to obtain fantastic results at different stages of pregnancy. If your pregnancy is more than 34 weeks, we will still perform a scan but are unable to guarantee the same quality of images and therefore cannot offer further rescans free of charge.
Absolutely, this is a family event and you are encouraged to bring your partner, friends and family to make this occasion a memorable one. We allow 4 people in total including the mother; we are happy for you to bring your children for the scan provided they are supervised by another accompanying adult in the scan room. We are wheelchair accessible.
Gender determination can be made any time after the 15th week. However, due to the position of the umbilical cord, placenta or fetus it can sometimes be difficult to get a clear view of the genital area. If this happens, we will send you for a walk to move the baby so we can see clearly. If we still can’t see, we will bring you back and re-scan you at the next available day for free. All early gender determination scans (before 20 weeks) carry a small margin for error and we suggest that you confirm our determination with your sonographer at your 20-week scan. Should they tell you anything different, call us straight away and we will schedule you in for a rescan on our next available day free of charge.
That is no problem and we do that all the time with NO mistakes. We have large screens in the room for viewing. When people don’t want gender, the sonographer will start with the scan with the screens off then map out the position of the baby. Once that is done, the screens are turned on and you get to see your baby and the gender will not be shown.
We can scan twins at an extra cost of £15 as we need to allow for a longer appointment so that we can achieve the best result, as the babies can be very close together and therefore the scan can be very difficult to carry out. For multiple babies (e.g. triplets, etc.) please contact us directly for advice on pricing.
All our Sonographers are fully qualified and experienced in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to conduct scans. They all have many years’ experience conducting scans. You can be assured you and your baby are in safe hands.
On rare occasions we are unable to complete the primary purpose of a scan. For pregnancy scans, this may be due to your baby being in a difficult position, or something else such as overlying bowel gas which can obscure the ultrasound image. If this happens, we’ll book you a free of charge rescan so we can try again! The primary purpose is outlined on each scan webpage.
